Here you can find a description of each of the Standard Offer Classes offered by MÁS y Mambo. When registration is open, you will see links to the registration page. If you have any questions that are not answered here or at in the FAQs, please contact us and we will respond as soon as possible.

Salsa Essentials 1 - Register Now

This class is designed for those will little or no salsa experience. Here, students will be taken on a progressive path through major concepts and skills required for social salsa dancing. They begin with connecting to and appreciating the music. Then concepts around movement of one's own body are introduced and how these movements connect with the music. Finally students will learn how to move together as a team, lead and follow, and at the same time dance to the music. Class topics include finding the beat, the basic step, basic turns with a partner, cross body lead, and body isolations. By taking this class you will develop your ear, your body, and your confidence.

Salsa Essentials 2 - Register Now

In order to register for Salsa Essentials 2, students must be familiar with all material covered in Salsa Essentials 1. This class will introduce intermediate levels of complexity in footwork and connection. Class topics include variants on the cross body lead, checks, copas, hand tosses, and multiple spins will be introduced along with synchopated weight transfers. The goal of Salsa Essentials 2 is that at the end, students will be able to attend any salsa event in Columbus and be productive members of the local salsa community.
